The world’s largest spider is in Ottawa, Canada. It is called the ‘Maman’.  This enormous spider was created by the artist Louise Bourgeois. Who made it of bronze, stainless steel and marble. It is huge: measuring over 30 ft high and over 33 ft wide this huge. The artist’s muse was his mother, who was like a spider, woven all her life, as the family was in the business of tapestry restoration. The metaphor of maternal love, weaving, spinning, education and defense inspired the world’s largest spider statue.
